Stress is a puppy…..

Ok Love him.

Firstly- I may have the first pup in history who likes Wasabi, or least has decided that chewing the corner baseboard (which Dave just replaced and then smeared full with wasabi, due to his chewing the hell out of them once before) is worth the brain pain the wasabi can create! Next idea? darlingmiette

Secondly- I am puppy broke.
Not including his purchase price, and all the puppy accessories we have purchased for him in the past couple of months, Oliver is costing us a small fortune in vet bills…Here is a break down to date-and in the near future..
 $60.00 x 3 for puppy shots and check-ups
$100.00 for 1 months worth of Sporanox to treat ringworm
$30.00 x 2 to test his liver enzymes in the middle of and end of teatment with Sporanox to rule out problems there

Today he is at the vet, as we speak, when I pick him up at 4:30 pm I have to pay out……
$250.00 for Neuturing
$30.00 for Microchipping whilst he is under
$20.00 to pull out two retained baby teeth that are at risk of infection, (Yorkies are highly prone to teeth issues.)
$100.00 for ANOTHER MONTH of Sporanox cause his freaking ring worm is still hanging around…….Grrr, (Also a Yorkie thing, they have more problems with ringworm then other breeds.)

Because he is doing Sporanox again, he will need two more blood tests for liver.
$30.00 x 2
When this next month is done, they will do a skin culture and send it away to test for more ringworm…
Then we just hope it comes back negative finally, or else lather, rinse and repeat…..

This is breaking the bank, really…I had budgetted for the neuter and the vaccines, but this ringworm is killing us, treat pup, treat cats, treat humans, sanitize entire house and all bedding, Now today they say I have to dissinfect all his toys as the spores might be hanging out on his toys for up to 3 month waiting for a host.

I am getting a tab bit stressed. Good thing I love him so much.

Update**** The surgery is done, Oliver did fine, now he is in recovery. Why do I feel so guilty? 😦
I already miss his testicles πŸ™‚ I think it just feels so very final ya know…weird but I feel upset.
Glad he is ok though.

When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Puppies. Oy. Yeah, our dog was expensive the first year and he wasn’t even a puppy! (Rescue dog, he was about 2 years old?)
But they’re so cuddly and worth it, aren’t they?
(As soon as I get to the PO, your new dog boots will be in the mail!)

  2. Puppies
Don’t despair too too much, it does get a bit less expensive in the next couple of years. Puppies are a lot of money, but I haven’t had to spend much on Mercy since all the spaying microchipping stuff when she was young. I didn’t have the ring worm thing to deal with I had bladder infections to deal with, and a dog that sleeps in the bed with us and pees in the middle of the night is not fun! (and urinalysis are $48 meds were like $50 and had to do that every 6 weeks for almost 2 years) But it does get better. The most expensive thing now is her box of heartworm/flea/tick medication for the summers. and her food. she eats a lot more then Oliver!! lol!

Haha Oliver is still eating for free. The vet gave us a free sample of PD food and the bag is 5 times the size of Oliver, that is the sample size πŸ™‚ he has been eating for free since we got him, we just pick up some top quality wet food to add to his dish every other day.
I know that puppyhood is the most expensive time then it get’s easier, it’s just all comming all at once. Everyone want’s a cut of the money I don’t have much of.
Oliver sleeps in his kennel cause he keeps us awake, he loves in there though and he is just at the foot of our bed so it’s all good.
