I need a new show…….

Ok so I am up to date on:
How I  Met Your Mother
The Office

I watched all of:

The Soprano’s
Arrested Development
Buffy three times πŸ™‚
Northern Exposure

Now what do I watch?? I need a new show. Suggestions?

In other news- I hate TV advertisements and will probably get rid of my cable again in the near future. I love to watch good shows, but I would rather watch them on DVD commercial free. Everytime I watch prime time I just want to throw things at the TV when I see stupid commercials over and over and over. They just sear into my brain,  like that new Boston Pizza $10.00 entre commercial with the geeky family and oddball creepy talking baby. ANNOYING.

Hey-I should copy Peter Griffin and start a weekly column that starts with "Ya know what really grinds my gears…."

  1. TV Shows
I would totally suggest Big Love, The L word, Life (freaking awesome), NCIS, and my all time favorite GREY’S ANATOMY! Enjoy your viewimg

  2. I love Meerkat Manor! funny stuff those little rascals! We just started watching a new show Lie To Me. Might be able to find some online somewhere. It’s a good one! Also love A&E’s Paranormal State. My cousin just mentioned he got into Oz for a bit but I never did. 24 is a good one to get into to watch all at once. Really the only show I can’t not watch is Days!!:)

    • Ya I love Meerkats πŸ™‚
We watched OZ, I liked the actors in it, but I didn’t like the show, it was so sad and violent and depressing, so I just had enough. Dave didn’t mind it.

  3. True Blood, Fringe, Leverage and Apparitions :o)

    • Awesome!
Everyone is comming out of the woodwork with ideas, y’all are going to keep my brain occupied long time πŸ™‚ I am excited now!
I am always looking for TV with a brain behind the concept.

  4. Big Love
    True Blood
    The Tudors

  5. We have similar taste in shows. I love The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Up until this season Bones has been pretty good but it’s kind of going down hill now. And House!

    • Oh, and Gossip Girl is my guilty please. I’m trying to convince my husband he should watch it with me but he won’t budge πŸ™‚

      • Um I can’t get Dave to watch Gossip Girl or OC or anthing silly like that. However, I will look into the others, I love David Boranis so I was debating Bones, I never heard of Sarah Connor at all, and Dave hates House, says it’s the same episode over and over πŸ™‚

    • I can’t believe I didn’t think of the Sarah Connor Chronicles! ZOMG, River is in it! (Um… yeah, that’s not her real name, but I can’t think of her real name at the moment… I mean the woman who played River in Firefly).
Also, I forgot: 30 Rock. Which is HILARIOUS (I adore adore adore Tina Fey!)

  6. Eureka (on DVD) was pretty good. If you don’t mind single season shows, Firefly was AMAZING (wait, you’ve seen that, right???). Another single season show is John From Cincinnati.
    Big Love
    Six Feet Under
I’m sure to have more suggestions, give me a moment (and tell me which ones of these you hated :D)

    • Yup, I own firefly and have a fanboy crush on Joss Whedon.
I will look at the others, 6 Feet under is one we talked about and my friends loved Deadwood and said there is alot of swearing in it πŸ™‚

      • I figured, but it’s one of my favorites EVER so I had to include it πŸ˜€
The swearing in Deadwood is fairly intense, even for me. I am a huge swearer, but OMG. Every other word is motherfucker or cocksucker. Seriously. I learned a LOT from that show about how to swear properly! LOL
(John From Cincinnati has many of the same actors in it, I think the creators were the same folks… but it is a totally different type of show, about a surfing family in So Cal that is Very Strange.)
        Six Feet Under is AMAZING.
Oh and you might like Dead Like Me. And Monk ia silly, but I like it. (It gets old after a few seasons).
Also, I really liked going back and watching ER from the beginning… I was never into that show until we did it that way (we had a friend who made us! LOL)

      • ooooooooo thanks, I forgot about Dead like Me, I did want to see that. There was another one with Dennis Leary as a firefighter that I wanted to see as well. I totally forgot.
I might like ER now that you mention it, man that show goes on and on and on….:) Like Scrubs.

      • Oh yeah! The DL one is Rescue Me and it is FAB (I have to warn you, one of their kids dies in season 2 or 3, I forget. It’s horrific and awful. And very painful for everyone, in the next season, they do a lot of grieving…)

      • Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to pace myself. Man I best be getting watching already I have alot to see now πŸ™‚

      • It’s done really well, don’t get me wrong (it really is. And the whole series is *amazing*) but it might be triggery. Maybe not, cause once you get to that point a LOT of other shit has gone down (I mean, he’s a firefighter and it’s a post-9/11 show, there’s a lot of grief and a lot of ghosts and a lot of angst/ drinking/ depression/ unhappiness admidst a hell of a lot of drinking and sex).
I love the recommendations you’re getting! It’s fun to see what people watch!

      • I know…I am having a blast myself πŸ™‚
        Stuff I forgot about.

Have you watched Curb Your Enthusiasm?? Oh my god, it’s farking hilarious. Like Seinfeld, but better πŸ˜€
John has all the seasons – I’ll start copying them for you. Is your DVD player DVD-R compatible?

    • Hmmm I heard of it but never watched it, yea we have a play anything DVD player.
I know I was so disapointed when Arrested Developmental was cancelled as well, it was great. I love dark humour like that, Like the Movie Running with Scissors, brilliant!!!

  8. do you watch Bones? I LOVE it. And Criminal Minds.

  9. I’m also a big TV on DVD fan. Recently, we’ve plowed through Ugly Betty and Sex and the City (for the fourth time). Good times all around.
I’m on LOST right now, season 1, but sounds like you’re already caught up on that one.

    • I am all caught up on Lost and it gets sooooooo much better, it is a twisted off the wall show πŸ™‚
Dave didn’t like Ugly Betty and hates SITC with a fiery passion πŸ™‚ that and desperate housewives, and Gilmore Girls, and The OC and Gossip Girl hahaha.

  10. Heros was good. I’m also a fan of House.
