Stolen from lampshade_days :

In response to this post, ask me about the first time I did something. It can be anything–the first time I used chopsticks, the first time someone I knew died, the first time I left the country, my first OTP, the first time someone of the opposite sex saw me naked. I’ll answer in the thread. Then (if you like) put it on your journal and I’ll ask you questions.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. your first memory as a child?

    • Hmmm. I have some very young memories, cause I remember drinking out of a bottle, so 1’ish and it had grape juice in it, and it was making air bubbles and it made me laugh.
Next most clear memories are around 3-4, I remember my mom studying for her course and me pretending I was studying too and copying her and asking when I could go to school too. I remember making a peanut butter sandwich and being very happy about myself for learning how to cook haha and jumping on the bed eating it. (How dangerous is that haha) and I have loads of memories from age 4, that is when I think they really started sticking.
      How about you?

      • oppps that was me. I didn’t even notice I was signed out.

      • S’ok. I figured it was you πŸ˜‰
Speaking of grape juice. I remember one summer- maybe I was 3 or so- I was sick as a dog and kept begging for grape juice. My grandma didn’t want to give it to me but I insisted. Yep…grape juice all over her bed. Nice…
One of my very first memories is when I was about 1 or 2. My parents were divorced (they’ve since remarried each other again). My dad was a bit of a hippie and had hitch-hiked across several states to come and visit us kids. I was eavesdropping from the hallway and overheard my mom yelling at my dad because it was dangerous for him to do.

  2. How about:
The first time you ate Chinese food? Sushi? Indian food?
The first time you undressed someone else? Let someone else undress you?
The first movie you remember seeing?
    Your first concert!

    • First time I ate Chinease I was a kid, we used to eat it all the time. First time I ate REAL Chinease was in 2001 in Toronto with my friend from Hong Kong.
First time I ate Sushi was in 2000 in Toronto and I was working at a shop on Young street called Morningstar and we ordered in Sushi for lunch. I didn’t know what wasabi was at that time and ate a big dollop of it and nearly died haha.
Indian Food-also in Toronto in 2000, I don’t remember where though, but my favorite Indian restaurant off all time is in Little India in Toronto on Gerard and it’s called La Hora Tika.
Hmmmm. the first time I undressed someone, I guess 1995 the year I lost my virginity, we were together for a year so I am sure that at somepoint in there I undressed him and he undressed me.
The first movie I remember seeing is the claymation Rudolf movie that comes on at Christmas, that and The Grinch.
My first concert was Young MC and Vanilla Ice together in Moncton. I was 13.

  3. 1. The first time you left Canada.
    2. The first time you met Dave.
Also, a random question that I can’t really phrase into a “first”, but I wanted to know when/how/where you came up with Evan’s name πŸ™‚

    • 1.First time I left Canada was in 2004 when we went to Peru together, Dave and I that is. We stopped in Houston and that was my first time on US soil.
      2. I first met Dave at a mystical, herbalism type shop I was working at in Toronto when I was in college in 2001.He was having and herbology class and I prepared the herbs for it. We met but didn’t become friend until 2 years later, when our path’s crossed again through the pagan community in Toronto.
3.In 2004 Dave and I were at this event, we had our tarot done. Dave’s card’s mentioned a son, a young warrior would be his firstborn and a son. So when we got pregnant in 07 we remembered that and smiled cause it was in fact a boy so it just seemed appropriate to name him Evan cause it means Brave Warrior. Clements his middle name was after Dave’s dad who passed away in 1998.
