Fitness and Spaaaaaaaaah!

So last night I spent 4 lovely hours at the spa compliments of my awesome husband. I arrived, they had me undress and put on the softest robe I have ever felt and slippers. I started with a 30 minute facial/face,neck and shoulders rub, then got a pedicure and manicure and finished the evening with a full massage. Heavenly.  Even if they did lecture again for using nothing on my face but water and moisterizer with SPF. Blah blah blah you need to wash and tone, water dosen’t cut it…blah blah blah. I am a low maintenance kinda gal, that is just to many face steps for me.

Anyhow. they asked me to take off my jewelry so it didn’t get ruined/dirtied and keep it in my robe pocket beside me. When I went to get dressed I put my rings back on but somehow forgot about my Evan necklace and left it in the pocket. When I got home I freaked out when I realised I had fogotten it, terrified they would have thrown in the wash. I tried to call but they were closed so I left a voice mail. Luckily they called me back and had found it phew!! So I headed back to pick it up safe and sound. See my Evan necklace is an engraved heart locket with my name on the front and his name and date of birth on the back and I had some of his ashes sealed into it after he was creamated so I could keep a small part of him physically near me always. That is why I was freaking out it would be lost or put in the washing machine, I was litterally terrified to loose the little physical bit of my child I have left.

Anyways-on a prouder note…Couch to 5K week 3 day 1 DONE!
I am so proud to have TRIPLED my run stamina in 2 weeks. Week one the running intervals were 60 seconds and at first that was not easy, then week two they moved to 90 seconds and that was really tough at first but got easier at the end, now today I did 3 minutes and it wasen’t nearly as hard as I expected, I think I could have continued for another minute even. It felt great.
Seeing tangible results like you do with this program is very rewarding and helps you to keep it up. Keeps you really motivated.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. I’m so glad your Evan locket was safe and you enjoyed your spa day.
And yay for couch to 5k. I don’t know what has me sticking with it, except maybe regret that I didn’t work harder at being in shape last pregnancy. Maybe you are right that every week you improve and even though it is a struggle what once was a struggle gets easier. I mean today? Eight minutes baby! Eight!

  2. mmmm spa….
