and cat door.

OK a few pictures of last weekend’s acomplishments.

I should so do a before and after picture post of the whole house. We renovated the whole thing top to botton since we bought it last October. We were lucky enough to get it for less then market value and below our budget so that we had cash leftover to invest in the reno’s.

We painted the whole kitche this shade of Yellow. It’s like a deep butter yellow. Hard to get the exact hue from these pics.

It shows up a bit better here next to the trim. It looks so clean and fresh next to the brown dinning room and white trim. It really makes the trim pop which is nice cause Dave did a really good job on the Boston Header over the dinning room. Come warmer weather that back wall window will be replaced with a patio door leading out to the backyard right from our dinning room.

Next we installed a cat door that we made ourselves into the basement door. This helps keep the heat loss to a minimum as we were loosing heat to the unfinished basement. Also let’s the cat’s down to their litter boxes while the door is closed. Safe away from the snacky mouth of Mr. Oliver the poop eater. Gross! He wont’ go downstairs for some reason. Never has.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  4. Your house is GORGEOUS!

    • haha thanks. It’s really a humble little home. We bought cheap and small so that we could afford it easily. It’s a small 2 bedroom bungalow only 950 square feet, but that way it’s cheaper to heat and the perfect size for our small family. When guest come we put them up in the livingroom on an air bed, they never stay more then 1 or 2 nights anyhow. It was pretty out of date when we got it, but because we bought it 20k under budget that left that money for upgrades.

  5. i love your dining room it looks so cozy.

    • The dinning room is my favorite room in the house. It used to be the master bedroom, we closed up the door, opened up the wall and put in a wood stove were the closet was, it turned out perfect. We love it now.
