Beautiful day with friends.

Dave and I had a splendid day today with a loss mama friend of mine and her adorable 3 year old daughter Elaina. We picked them up and took Oliver to the dog park and looked at the ducks, walked around and enjoyed the nice sunny mildish day. Then we came home and had some lunch and Dave made us all delicious hot chocolate from scratch. Then we went to the playground in my back yard and played there for a while, all the while Oliver running around like a mad dog on speed having a blast. Finished up with a hillarious game of Oliver chasing Elaina around and trying to steal her stuffed animal pup Blackie and then the socks off her feet. I sent her home with some costume jewelery of mine that I don’t mind parting with and some clear cherry lip gloss. She was in heaven. When we dropped her off tonight, she was half asleep and said unprompted to Dave, "Thank you for taking me to your house, giving me hot chocolate and helping me slide."

Breaks my heart a little because both us love children so deeply, and Dave is such natural dad material. I just want us to be parents to our children instead of everyone elses. I just want to have a family of our own, to enjoy everyday.

Ok now the pictures. I am in none of them cause I was the girl behind the lens.

Entering the park, ready to conquor the walk.  Then 10 minutes in, Elaina was done carrying her stuffed puppy Blacky.  I got him for the rest of the walk πŸ™‚

Blacky liked the park too.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
