Another Lovely Day!

Had another lovely day today, it was so warm and sunny so we spent the day outdoors. First to our old building to drop something off to our old landlord and also for a social call. Oliver loves him to pieces, his uncle Mikey we say. After a brief visit with some of the people who live in our old building we were off to Home Depot to get  a new bedroom door. They are having a 20% off door sale so we took advantage and got a new door for the pocket door to our room, got it for a very reasonable $30.00. Then a hour long run in the dog park.

Poor Oliver every since being pumbled by the meanish lab I mentioned in the earlier post he has been very nervous around unknown dogs. We keep bringing him to the dog park to introduce him off leash to other friendly dogs and teach him to be social. He had a blast palying with a couple of Pomerians, a couple of Jack Russels and a 10 week old Boxer pup. However, anytime a bigger dog would want to smell him he would whine and try and climb up my legs. I was torn as to what to do, I wanted Oliver to feel I would keep him safe but at the same time wanted him to realize it was safe and they just wanted to play. I decided against picking him up and instead just knelt down and pat both of them to show Oliver it was ok. Poor pup, I want him to be social so we will take him to the off leash park as often as possible so he can realize he is ok and not all big dogs are scary.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
