This movie roundup brought to you by our sponsors, Ben and Jerry!

Here is this weekend’s movie lowdown.

Last night we watched Gonzo a documentary about Hunter S. Thompson. He is the crazy journalist Johnny Depp portrayed in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This was very well done and anyone interested in the story of this very spirited man should watch this. I highly recomend it, it’s very good at avoid the dryness that can come with a documentary.  Lots of real life film and audio clips from really made it appealing.

Today we watched Rachel Getting Married. Loved this so, so much. It’s sad and heartwrenching but it is so well done and I fully understand Ann Hathaway’s Oscar nomination for this role. Even my husband loved it, and despite it’s name,  it is not a chick flick and in fact the wedding as a whole is only part of the backstory.

Next on the list is The Boy in the Stripped Pajama’s, I have heard this is really really good so I look forward to seeing, watch this space for my review later on. **EDIT** Very sad sad movie about the Holocaust, like any movie about the Holocaust would be anything but sad and horrible. This one is more child friendly in that the entire movie is told through the eyes of a 10ish year old boy, and there is no blatent violence, just implied violence, which in this case, and in my opinion get’s the point across more effectively. A heartbreaking movie with a very important message.

In other news, Oliver went to the groomer today and got cut and looks oh so cute, I will do a before and after picture post soon. Then this afternoon Dave and I went for massage therapy again, he is helping with my migranes and it feel’s really good while he is doing it but soar later, like exercise I guess. He is trying to help calm the tension I have in my jaw, temples and neck. First time I had someone massage the inside and outside of my jaw haha.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
