One day to do as I will..

…without feeling bad for feeling sorry for myself that is….
…without feeling like I am just looking for stupid sympathy in a bid to feel a bit better….

I hate mother’s day because I fail at motherhood. That is all!

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. *hugs* You are very much a mother, not a failure of any sort. Happy mother’s day.

  2. You don’t fail. You are a mother. You deserve this day, too. *hugs*

  3. Fail??????? Wipe that word from your vocabulary! You did not fail. Death is not a failure (nor was it your failure). You ARE Evan’s mommy, the only home he ever knew and the only body he ever touched (outside his own). You know exactly what Mother’s Day means: to leave a part of your heart outside your body for the rest of your life. He died too soon, way to soon, but he was here for a brief while and you were his mom.
Hate this day because it is despicably sweet and sappy with no consideration for the dark side of motherhood, hate it because it makes you grieve all the more, hate it because it isn’t fair, ever, that he is not here in your arms!!! But don’t hate yourself, or feel as if you failed!

  4. hi sweety. happy mother’s day, for you are a mother. thinking of you & evan today.
    xoxo
