5k finito :)

I just ran my first 5k woot. Best of all I RAN it in  43:34.8…Before re-injuring my pelvis I was aiming to run it in 40-44 so I am withing my goal WITH an injured pelvis. I was also just beyond the mid range my age/gender completetion and far from last. I really didn’t think I would be able to run based on my pain level on Friday but I just got caught up today and thought I would run as much as I could and that would be ok. In the end I was able to run just over half the race.

Oh man what a rush running in a big marathon is πŸ™‚ words can’t describe. Can’t wait to do it again. Dave and I have said we hope to run 10k together next year.  I feel great.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  2. Holy crap! Way to go, lady! On all counts – RUNNING IT! Running it within your goal time! Looking so damn good afterwards! You win πŸ˜€ and I’m so impressed!
And for what it’s worth, you definitely look like you’ve lost weight. You look great!!

    • Thanks lady. πŸ™‚
I appreciate the sentiment, I haven’t however lost a damn pound. Then again I did have two donughts on Friday haha, so I suppose I can’t expect miracles on that note. I need to take the sugar out of my diet AND exercise, I am working on it.
As for you and your pelvis. Have you been to a chiropractor? Is it covered by your insurance? This past week has been my first run in with a chiropractor and oh my god….I couldn’t move at all wednesday at all after re-injuring my pelvis, it was brutal..I was really depressed thinking I can’t beleive this pain is back and I still have no baby…so I went to see a chiro, it wasen’t immidiate, but three day’s later I was able to run a 5k…I am still soar and I still have to see him many more times and keep on top of it, but wow, it was more effective after one session then months of physio. Also it can help with so many more health concerns and it takes 15 minute for an adjustment so taking Sophia is a non issue. I guess I am a chiro convert haha.
Wishing you well and glad to here about the new therapist. LOVE.

  3. I’m so happy you were able to run it!! And to keep in your time while injured is amazing. Good job!!!
