Living with Calculating Cats..

Mark my words. I am DONE with cat ownership. These two are my responsibility and I will take care of them the rest of their lives but after that FIAT, no more cat’s for this lady. These two cat’s have caused me immense trouble over the years (had Jewel for 10 years and Jaspurr for 8) way, way, way more trouble then their worth (in terms of the affection and loyaltee I get in return) Jaspurr for years just wants to piss on everything when he is pissed at you, or you haven’t scooped his litter that very day, that cat demanded two litter boxes and want’s it changed daily or he won’t use it, he will crap right beside it to make his point. Jewel has for years been just plain defiant doing everything she knows she is not aloud to do, and it has been getting worse this past week. Today she ate an entire raw hamburger off the kitchen counter, scratched a new hole in my duvet cover and ran outside the door 4x. She is not an outdoor cat, never has been, ever, but has always had wanderlust. Today she just decided she was going, 3x we managed to grab her and bring her back in, but tonight, she bolted down the driveway and into the woods and has been gone over an hour now. I am going to bed soon, then tommorow we work all day she if she dosen’t get home soon she is going to be locked out a good long time, I just heard the dog barking, so I went to the door and she was sitting on the deck meowing, so I said come in and opened the door, and she just ignored me and stared off into the distance like I didn’t exist, then Dave stepped out to get her and she bolted away again, so we both are just livid. This is not a game cat, we will see how you feel in the morning when you want your breakfast.  I am so done with this cat, she has been bolting out every single chance she get’s. If she want’s to be an outdoor cat, let her, she will soon see it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. She may have her claws, but she also has 10 years of being a housecat and no experience outdoor, and I DO NOT have even 10 spare dollars right now, so if she get’s her ass kicked she will have to live with that, or not, cause I can’t go into anymore debt at this stage. I already have $500 on my visa from Jaspurrs bladder infections. They don’t listen, they appear ungreatful, the cost me a fortune and they ruin all my crap. Remind me again why I thought cat ownership was a good idea.
I guess it’s cause I had never owned a loyal, loving, appreciative, listening, eager to please dog before. For the past year I have tried really really hard not to play favorites with my animals, but right now, if someone offered to take them, I would give my cat’s away now, it’s been causing tension and fights in my marriage, all for what? So they can stress me out.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. You poor girl! Its time to find a place for them if they are stressing you out so much. I always had cats as a child and young adult but I find that a dod is so loving and appericative. I always wanted one.Cats are pretty and soft but are trouble!I know when I moved out of my apt years ago, they had to tear out all the carpet out because she used to have jelouse fits and piss on carpet and look at me while she did it!!!!!!!!!I hated it!I swore after Bear passed away,no more.I had enough of cleaning piss off my rugs and furiture ruined.

  2. I can totally relate to this.
