Summer days, drifting away…

Had a lovely weekend. We had friends in town from Bellville ON for their honeymoon so we went out to dinner with them Friday night and hung around chatting til midnight. Saturday was action packed from start to end.
8:30-11:30 yard sale with friends downtown, made $65 bucks off our own junk so hey, not bad.
1:00-5:00 visit  honemooning friends at their little cottage rental in Chester, have a lovely lunch at the cutest little cafe followed by a pool swim, with Oliver as the lifeguard, cutest dog ever.
6:00-12:00 visit with friends Natashia and Jeff, have bbq sirloin w/smoked applewood cheddar cheese burgers and fresh local corn on the cob, oh delish, good friends, good conversation.

Yesterday was a lowdown kind of day, since we were under hurricane watch. Mr. H Bill hit our coast yesterday morning bringing with him torential rains and winds, no biggy at all in the end, but none the less, a good excuse to sleep in, lay around watching movies intermingled with the occasional love making session. Funny story about that bit. Oliver was confused to see us making out on the couch, he jumped on the back of the sofa, then hopped down landing between us and started licking my face, hahah he wanted a piece of the action. We put him on the floor and went back about our kissing and then I feel someone licking my elbow haha. In the end we had to baby gate him outta the livingroom in order to get a little privacy. Damn funny dog. Reminds me a joke by Larry the Cable Guy. If my dog jumps up and licks my rear end during sex, does that make it a menage a trois? πŸ™‚

Anyways, we watched 1 week and both really loved it. Touching story and a good way to see 3/4 of Canada and it’s many famous landmarks. Then last night we headed out to see Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince on the Imax. We both loved this as well and I have to say, it may well be my favorite instalment yet, things get much more interesting as the kids get older. Maybe that’s cause I can identify more, but I also just loved the plot. No I haven’t read the books. Yes, I knew  Dumbledor dies, cause everyone was talking about when the book came out. Some young girl in the theatre was bawling her eyes when he did though, it’s a quiet scene and she was sobing loudly, poor girl.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. lol @ Oliver. When Brian and I had Sonic (our puppy) we lived in a loft with no rooms, so he was always in our bedroom or wherever we were.
HAHA I can’t even tell this story on the web. But without too much detail he was in a certain area trying to see what all the action going on was, and well his face was much too close for comfort.
