Food Journaling…

Last night I drank a vitamin water and the baby went NUTS, like then it does when I drink OJ. Weird. I know what I will be drinking before my next ultrasound. Which did I mention is in 14 days :)…woot.

This baby also went apeshit over Carrot Cake on friday. Had a slice at a friends and 20 minutes later is was movement city.

Now in terms of cravings (oh the cravings this pregnancy, I had none last time)
Overall I am still craving veggies, this has been consistant since day 1, raw cold crunchy veg, yum. Everyday with my lunch I have baby carrots, sliced bell peppers and cucumber, with pepper. I LOVE πŸ™‚

Veggie delight sub with extra black olives and hot peppers. Heaven. Could eat every other day.

Also loving eggs. Scrambled or hard boiled.  Yum! This also includes egg salad sandwiches and Tim Hortan’s breakfast sandwhich, which consists of egg, sausage round, slice cheese on a fresh baked corn flour biscuit. OOHHH love. I add keptchup and drool. I want this every morning, with ice cold milk to drink.

Cereal with cold milk, non sweet crunchy cereal.

Cheese. Love the cheese, all of it, cottage cheese, old sharp cheddar, all of it. I love this all the time so not surprising to me.

Carbs, but only soft and fresh carbs, HATE anything that tastes old. Obsessed with spinach and cheese tortillini with butter, thyme and parmesean, macaroni with tomatoes and boconchini, fresh bread with peanut butter and mollases, and of course cheese croissants yum!

Things I hate continue to be all meat and fish products. YUCK. I do eat some meat, but I never really enjoy it, except chicken breast and chicken nuggests, I do like those.

Overall trend, is raw vegetarian diet with limited sugar, I am turned off by sweet things they make me feel ill. Which is why I like vitamin water, it’s not to sweet tasting but I noticed that there is still a crapload of sugar in it, which sucks. So it’s back to my lemon water.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. I hated eating meat too during my 1st pregnancy! So much for the body knowing what’s good for you πŸ™‚

  2. You’re craving some healthy food there!! I am impressed. My cravings have been more like snickers bars and ice cream. And tomato sandwiches, which are sort of healthy (minus the mayonaisse).

  3. Ooo lets compare
I love sweet. love love love.
Vitamin 10 is a “diet” Vitamin water sweetened with Stevia (haven’t don’t the research and don’t care). I like lemon and their green tea (which has no caffeine). Their “energy” version has caffeine and some scary herb. This pregnancy I’ve alternated V10 with water or just aimed for 1-2 V10s a day and have been impressed with how much less I pee than when I drink only water and how much better hydrated I was during the extreme summer days. I really had no clue the lethargy was from dehydration until I started V10.
I need my milk cold too in cereal. It drives me nuts that Reuben leaves it on the table to refill his bowl. I leave it in the fridge. Anyway since EDS quit banana and they go bad so quickly in the humidity I started peeling and freezing them. I use a serious knife to cut the frozen banana into my cereal and it is sooooo yummy and keeps the milk super cold.
Mmm I love cheese. I was eating low fat versions before, but now I’ve been added gobs of goat cheese to salads (with pears, walnuts, lettuce, and apple cider vinegar), feta to greek salad, and melting cheddar on chips or into bean tacos served with guacamole.
I use to eat low carb, high fiber packaged bread. Now I only buy sourdough or french italian fresh from the bakery.

    • hahah, you are sounding deffensive over your vitamin water. I know it’s probably cause earlier I was all NOOOO, Aspertame is evil..Well darling, rest assured Stevia is just fine, it’s healthy even.
As for the vitamin water 10 I will have to look for it cause it’s sounds promissing. I need to have more hydration as well, so anything that promotes water intake (outside my morning tea, which due to it’s caffeine dosen’t count).
Frozen banana, hmmm I will have to try it, I only freeze bananas when I am going to use them for baking. Then they turn to mush once thawed.
Screw low fat, that’s part of the joy of pregnancy, full fat cheese all around πŸ™‚ your salad is making me drool all over my desk, I had almost the same salad at a restaurant this summer and it was heaven, only they used creamy blue cheese. I had supper dupper cheesy nacho’s last night with salsa and sour cream. mmm.
Fresh bakery bread is like no other πŸ™‚ Mmmm egg salad on fresh French loaf sounds like a plan.

  4. i love vitamin water 10, which uses rebiana, crystalline fructose & erythritol and is thus sugar-free and damn tasty.

    • Hmmm I have to look those ingrediants up, they are foreign to me…

    • Ok I see, Rebiana is Stevia. I don’t get why they need the other 2 then, Stevia is plenty sweet on it’s own. I am weary of any fructose, I try to avoid it as much as possible, and allow it only as a treat now and then. Erythritol sounds safe enough, I just don’t understand it’s need cause as I said, Stevia is mighty damn sweet.

  5. mmmmmmmmmmm carrot cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
