20.5 weeks-new happenings

Now that I know I have an anterior placenta, the movements I feel make total sense. I don’t feel kicks right in front of me like I did with Evan, I feel them off to my sides. This wee one is getting strong, she keep’s me up at night with the kicks, last night I was getting some sharp jabs to the right side, which makes sense cause at the last ultrasound she was on her back, her head to the left, so that would put her feet on my right.
My breast have been so soar and achy, I noticed last night when I climbed in bed that my nipples were damp, sure enough when I squeezed them more clear fuid came out, I started getting colostrum with Evan around month 6, so this time it’s happening around month 5..Everything has been happening aprox. one month earlier this time, I am even showing a month ahead. Measurements however are not, this baby is right on track, it’s my body that seem’s to be chugging along ahead of schedule.

Lastly, I have started having some edema in my hands, bascially when I wake in the morning my hands are stiff and puffy, not noticably to the eye yet, just enough that my rings are uncomfortable, so I have started really trying to watch my salt intake and drinking more water.
Time to get some dandelion and nettle leaf tea on the go, that is what my midwife gave me for fluid retention last time.

All of this was expected, as it all happened last time, and I supposed then is good because it’s reminders of the wee one growing in my belly.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Still so excited to learn of your baby girl. Awww…It’s nice to be able to call her a she instead of an it, huh?
And I also noticed things happening a lot sooner the second time around as well.

    • Thanks πŸ™‚ I am super duper excited as well. I still refuse to go 100% girl until I see the girl bits, but I am 99% sure, as I was 90% sure going into the ultrasound and the Dr. Specialist did our scan and said she was 99% sure it was a girl.
