Hello there father winter..

Awoke to snow. Snow everywhere, big glorious fluffy snowflakes.
As much as I hate the cold. I love winter in it’s early days, when it’s still warm enough out and the snowflakes come ever so lightly and fluffy, falling all around me.  This morning I sat in my housecoat by my blazing woodstove with a mug of coffee and watched the amber glow of dawn reflect through the juicy snowflakes, I though ‘this is perfection’. Peaceful, serene, warm and cozy. There is something wonderfly magical about the first snowfall of the season, something that reminds you winter is the perfect time to bear down for a cuddle-a-thon with a fire, a good movie and a mug of hot tea.

I hope I get to spend this winter cuddled up to my sweet daughter instead of hating that my boy is not here, pushing his toy trucks along the hardwood and talking toddler wisdom all over the place. We would be celebrating his second birthday on Christmas eve, my sweet  Christmas baby.

My heart is shattered without him, but I have hopes Evangeline will make winter more bearable again. We will never stop missing Evan, but having her life with us might just make the long winter months less bitter sweet.

Here’s to a new hope for the oncoming winter. 🙂

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

She will make it better. It won’t ever be the same, but she will make it better. I know it.

  2. :::::::::::::::::praying for that new hope:::::::::::::::::::::
