Home at last

Home from my mothers, feet up and relaxing with my hubby. Seriously looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, my back is killing me. I am glad we had a nice Christmas this year and I could see all my family, was at my grandmothers until 11:30pm last night, we have a annual ritual of extended family board games, last night we played Cranium and it was a blast.

My grandmother kept petting my belly and kissed it before we left for the night 🙂 Evangeline was of course the centre of attention. Everyone in my family is so looking forward to her and the healing she will hopefully bring. I am the first grandchild on both sides of the family and Evan was the first Great Grandchild. Evangeline will still be the first on my dad’s side. 4 generations of Cormier’s at Christmas dinner. My Dad’s sister made her a beautiful quilt, she had made a gorgous quilt for Evan that we had hanging on the wall in his nursery. She is very talented and that they are handmade is so special.

We were both seriously spoiled this year. Mom got us both Costco memberships. Comfy Pj’s and I got wonderful wonderful fluffy ugg style slippers from La Sensa. My brother got me the Angel Care baby monitor I wanted, the one that sounds an alarm if there is no movement at all for 2 minutes. Got a ton of gift cards which will be very helpful with things needed, including 100$ for Home Depot, which will help us finish the nursery for Evangeline eventually. Dave wants a new pot and pan set called Earthchef, and his mom sent him a gift card to go and get that for himself.

Oliver had an absolute blast with my mom’s dog Kattie. I have tons of cute pictures of them both and will upload those when I get around to it.

Now we are home, Dave is back to work Tuesday and I am on maternity leave, however I do have an OB appointment on Tuesday and a Biophysical on Thursday. It’s weird being on maternity leave, I think I will be bored until she is here, there is only so many times I can clean the house ya know. Her room is not ready to be set up until Dave is done the basement and the office is moved down there, then the room is cleaned and prepped to paint ect.. I don’t expect to do that before she is home with us. I have already washed, folded and put away all her clothes in her dressed which is in our room right now, ditto with the cloth diapers, so really I am done what I need to do for now. Evangeline will be sleeping in our room for at least the first 6 months anyhow, so her nursery will really be just to store her clothes and diapers ect..
I can’t believe I will be 35 weeks in like 3 days, 2 weeks until full term, 3 weeks until possible induction, 4 weeks max.
I really hope she chooses to come on her own by 38 weeks, that would be awesome, then I wouldn’t have to worry about induction. Time to start with the Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, Evening Primrose Oil and lots of sex hahah in hopes of prepping my cervix. Lots of cramping and discomfort down low but not alot of Braxton Hicks to date sadly, so I don’t feel impending labour.

My back hurts and I have carpel tunnel like hell, but each one of her kicks makes me forget all that and remember that I almost at the end and it is so worth it.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Oh I got the Earthchef for my wedding they are AMAZING amazing amazing amazing!!! No oil no water nothing and NO Stick! You can use metal (if your gentle) and it’s a all natural coating. the BEST new nonstick that will last a life time. Stovetop to oven as well, which I love!
Sounds like everything is on track for a smooth homecoming with her! take your time with it all, it’ll get done, before or after she’s here, it’ll get done!
    xoxoxo
glad this was a peaceful Christmas! I’ll call later this week and see how you’re doing!

  2. I’m glad you had a nice xmas with your family. I love playing board games/card games with my family. It seems so weird to hang out with Erik’s parents because they never want to do anything besides watch tv. Ugh…
