36 weeks.

Another perfect biophysical complete. Lung maturity is looking spectacular based on ultrasound signs (chest rising and falling regularly) She is having another busy day, which is of course wonderful.
36 weeks today. All was fine at checkup, second week in a row I had some protein in my urine, but my blood pressure is normal, they checked it 3x over 1 hour and it was fine, so they are thinking maybe I have a bit of infection in my bladder. Sent a sample off to the lab.

Had like at least 10 painless contractions waiting for my appointment this morning, so more then the 6 in an hour they told me to keep track of. Doctor said I looked exausted and pail, and I feel the same way. I told her I have not felt myself for a couple of days, nausous, appetite is minimal, lots of discomfort in my belly and back, bowel movements like 3-4 times a day and lots of contractions, plus crazy mood swings.
She said it all sounds like early labor to her,but no way to say for sure, just hang in there and see what happens. This could be just be getting ready and nothing else could happen for a couple of weeks. She told me baby can come anytime it likes and it would be fine, but if she has not by next Thursday, 37 weeks, then we will book an induction date for 38 weeks, 2 weeks from now. She said if we wait to 38 weeks then is cool with induction without an amnio. Music to my ears. πŸ™‚

She said if we do induce then I will come into the hospital in the morning and get the prostaglandin gel on my cervix and then I can stay at the hospital for monitoring so I can be better at ease. Sometimes the gel itself is enough to get labor started, but if it’s not then we will do the pitocen thing.

I am really hoping she chooses to come on her own, but reguardles I am so glad to know she will be here within 2 weeks.
I met with my physiotherapist to talk about the best possitions for labor to protect my SI joints from dislocation. I have to write up a birth plan and include that information in there. Then I went to hospital pre-registration to make sure all my info is ready to fast admittance, and that I have a private room booked.

We are all ready for you Evangeline. You can be born anytime now.
Ok now  I am freezing and have hard core heartburn, Off to have a bath and take a Zantac, ouch!

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
