Dave and I have been trying to fill our deepfreeze with food’s that will do us well postpartum.
He has made two large lasagna’s, 6 quiches, 2 sheppards pies, freezer bags of split pea soup and sausage and bean soup.
Today I am making Chillie, tuna caserole and a mexican chicken bake to throw into the mix.
We just wanted to have lots of easy to eat stuff for those first couple of exausted weeks, want to add a few more so we have enough to cover 14 days worth of lunches and dinner’s, then we can just have ceral for breakfast.
I think I will make a few more types of soups, like an apple squash soup and another bean based soup, cause soup with bread is a good and easy lunch.
Makes me wish I was closer to my family, or part of some bigger community here were people all take care of the new parents by dropping off caseroles and other easy food for the parents. We don’t really know many people here so we have to that for ourselves.
So close…so close. 6 days from today I will be planning my induction if this child has not come.
I had some bad ass painless contractions all night last night, hopefully that is moving things along. If nothing else I would like to go an induction with a very favorable cervix, that way things will move along easier.
