About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. OH how I love her squished nose in the second photo! It’s amazing that by the time she gets that white jumper on, her head has rounded out and her nose unsquished to a perfect button! Poor thing got mushed on the way out! I am constantly amazing at the baby making process, so much goes into producing these perfect little beings:) Way to go Mama, I couldn’t be happier for you and your wonderful little family!

  2. She is so beautiful!! I’m glad to hear the jaundice is being taken care of. I know it’s tough but it really is for the best. I’m so worried about that stuff now. When Imogen was born she was slightly elevated but they weren’t concerned. At her first check up two days after we got released she looked a little yellow so they drew blood just to be safe. I got a call eleven o’clock that night to rush her to the hospital because her levels were dangerously high. The lights worked wonders and she was back to normal in a day. I say all of this becaue three years later she has some serious developmental delays and I am so worried it was because of this. It’s very common but also something that should be taken seriously. So glad to hear you guys are doing so great though!!

  3. Congrats Mama! you did it! Welcome precious Evangeline!

  4. Daniel had jaundice too.. and my friend’s baby (she had hers on Jan 25th this year) has had jaundice too… we call it that the baby is going to Florida πŸ™‚ what with the sun glasses and tanning and all. She’s wonderful! Congratulations!

  5. Shes sooooo perfect. I am so so happy for you..
Ethan was in the hospital for 3 days for jaundance too. It was really scary but she will be okay πŸ™‚

  6. Actually, she doesn’t look as yellow as Rems did, either, but that could be the lighting or complexion issues! I hope you get discharged soon… Do ask about the bili blanket. And know that despite this small delay, she is HERE, earthside, and with you!!!!!!!
    (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

  7. How sweet! I hope you get to go home soon. There is nothing worse than being stuck in there when you don’t need to be.

  8. I am so glad you’re able to give mini updates. You all have been in my thoughts like mad. Ian and I are both sending you the very best good vibes we can. SO SO SO happy for you!

  9. She doesn’t look yellow to me and trust me I know yellow. EDS was in NICU for stupid jaundice too. It is so annoying. I hope they are letting you nurse, but if they aren’t don’t worry because as soon as you can get home and mother her all by yourself you’ll get her feeding as you wish in no time.

  10. She looks like your husband in those pictures. We don’t really know each other, but I’ve been following your story/journey/life for a while now and I’m just so excited for you! I was constantly checking LJ to see news of the babe’s arrival. Happy babymoon!

  11. she is gorgeous!! both eli and mairi had bad jaundice (had to stay days longer) and nurse nurse nurse nurse NURSE that girl, mama!! nothing flushes it out like mama’s milk!! i had eli and m on the boob as much as possible, despite having to be under the lights at points, get a bili blanket if possible!

  12. She’s soooo wonderful. πŸ™‚
