Shopping for baby

Mother is law is taking advantage of her visit to spoil her grand daughter royally.
She and Dave and finishing the baby’s nursery…sooooo exciting, pictures to come, it’s only 1/5th complete now, but it’s gonna be soo nice.
She just bought us a baby swing, and we are hoping that with said baby swing and the Oval drops everyone recommended for gas that we will be armed with 2 new tools to soothe a fussy baby.

This morning at 5am I took her out of the basinette to nurse, then out of sheer exaustion I guess, passed out nursing, woke up two hours later, her sleeping on my chest, me reclined in bed haha, So I just scooted down onto my back and we both slept in til 10am, it was lovely, tummy to tummy with my wee girl, sleeping peacefully. The whole family was exausted this morning from last night 5 hour fuss-a-thon, I am hoping it was just a bad spurt (growth spurt or something) and that it will be the exception to the rule..

I always call her Pipsqueak, but once Dave called her Squeak Pip and I thought it was so cute, so now I call her squeak pip all the time.
Today she kinda giggled in her sleep, it sounded that way and she smiled. I can’t wait til she can really smile at us instead of just in her sleep.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Baby Gas
Sounds like you are doing so well but I thought you might like a friendly suggestion that has worked very well for my 2 babies. I called it Baby Yoga – and its essentially some moves to get the gas to come out the bottom. One is them lying on their back and holding them by the legs raise their legs right up to their shoulders and do it a couple of times you might even put both feet up to one shoulder and then both to the other. Another one is with them again on their back raise their knee to their chest a little (like you would if stretching and then go over to one side with that knee down near or touching the surface (table or bed etc) you have them on…its the type of stretch if grown ups do it feels awesome usually for our lower backs and might even click something in again. Of course be gentle but not so wimpy gentle that you don’t massage this tummy area quite well. Anyway it worked for me and with some gas medicine the combination helped heaps. Good luck. xx

  2. All this work really does pay off. I never could imagine in those early days what it would be like to have a small child wrap their arms around me and with genuine emotion say “I love you so much!”
They know how hard we’re working! You guys are doing such an awesome job. I love reading your posts, reminds me of Caspian’s early days. Zinnia’s early days are a blur… 😉
