Rainbow Friends

Evangeline has a little rainbow girlfriend named Victoria. Victoria’s mom lost her second child, a son, at 38 weeks pregnant a few months after Evan. They do not know his cause of death, he simply passed away a couple of days before his scheduled c-section. I met his mom at the local hospital support group. She became pregnant with her rainbow baby about 6 weeks after me, so we walked this path together. So close together in fact that we had our weekly biophysicals together and would grab a coffee afterwards.

Yesterday I went to go visit her and her little Victoria. Victoria is 3.5 weeks, (5 weeks adjusted) behind Evangeline, so still a very sleepy newborn. Evangeline was very enthralled by this little thing and just stared at her hilariously the whole time. Victoria would cry, Evangeline would watch amazed, then start crying herself and Victoria would stop. I have never watched two wee one’s of this age interact before so it was hilarious to see.

Here is the pictorial evidence of this encounter:

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
