My daughter the socially elite.

I was invited to a baby shower today. In honour of the event I dressed Mrs. Evangeline up in her first dress, complete with adorable tiny tights.
By the time we arrived at the party 30 minutes later she had pooped all over her white tights and the white long sleeve onesie under the sleeveless dress. No one got to see her in her pretty party dress, we had to change into her Pj’s I had as back up. She pooped in 3 disposable diapers in a row…each time I put a new one on, she would continue what she started…So glad I decided to not chance cloth for the party. I can’t believe how much liquid poop has come out of this child today. Ever the bell of the ball my E. girl.

I arrived at the shower at 3pm, she wanted to nurse right away, after being changed, then she was a nice girl and let mom socialize from 3:30-4:30 before demanding to nurse again. She does that when she’s cranky or overwhelmed, nurse nurse nurse, it’s comforting.

The girl having the shower had her little boy Declan 2 weeks ago, he is a bit smaller then E. was a birth, he was 4 weeks early. Putting him next to E. really drove home how big she is getting for Dave and I. She looks like a giant next to him. She is getting so tall and her 0-3 month clothes are now just fitting, not much wiggle room, crazy. Her cheeks and chin are also filling out nicely. Her 2 month well baby appointment is on Tuesday, I can’t wait to see how much she has changed. Her head looked huge next to his wee tiny head.

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Haha – that reminds me of the first time we dressed Lily up all nice and cute to go out as a family for the very first time after coming home. Arian (my husband) took her out to the car to put her in the car seat and I was just getting a few last things off the counter. Right as I was walking to the door he came back in with Lily with a very unimpressed “I heard a poop!”

He undressed her…and it was poopsplosion all over her new outfit. Doh. So – into a regular sleeper she went instead and then we finally hit the road. Phew.

  3. I wish I could see what my little boy looked like against himself as a newborn! He’s grown around 3 inches and he’s nearly doubled his birthweight in just 6 weeks. He’s a little hoss. I have no idea why he’s getting so fat. And he poops in every since diaper. No joke, since his birth I think DH and I have changed less than 5 diapers with no poo in them. He’s just a food tube or something. 😀
