Sick baby update,,,

Her nasal congestion has gotten better, but it’s moved into a cough, poor thing is coughing up a storm…she doesn’t have a fever at all and it is not sounding raspy or wheezy yet. I guess I will call my doctor later to ask when I should be really concerned with the cough..I called the nursing hot line yesterday and they said if she’s breathing fine, still eating/acting like herself and has no fever, then I should be ok, just keep watch.

She did sleep a bit better last night (i.e 3 consecutive hours x 2 instead of waking every hour and a half like she did Monday and Tuesday night), I know she needed it, we cuddled up close and slept 11-2, then 3-6…feels a bit better, but my body is demanding more, working on migraine day 2, eyes burn and are bloodshot and bags are hardcore black. I just pray today we can nap as much a humanly possible, I have never felt so incompetent as a mom as I do today, I barely have energy to hold my own head up. Her needing me so badly is all that is keeping me going at this stage…

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. *hugs* You are not incompetent! You’re doing an amazing job giving her everything she needs right now to get better.

I hope she feels better soon and you both get the rest you need.

    • Thanks for that..I kinda felt incompetent in that I had no energy left to be competent. I survived, the two naps helped immensely.
She seems to be feeling better…everything crossed.
