7 months old :)

At 7 months old, Evangeline is:

  • Smiling all the time, even through tantrums you can get her to crack a smile.
  • Throwing tantrums down all over the place, serious fire in this child, that has been a consistent trait lol.
  • Loves the outdoors, touching tree’s, tasting leaves
  • Loves eating, OMG this child loves food, she noms down on corn and steak and anything the child can get her hands on. She can feed herself (oh so cute) with a spoon and all, she has yet to taste something she disliked, or that seemed to bother her intestines at all, and is showing no signs of allergies or food sensitivities.
  • Swipes everything she can, she grabbed one of Dave’s birthday cupcakes and stuffed in her mouth before I even noticed what was happening. She was on my left hip and I was on the phone. She is fast and furious. So much for no cake til her own first birthday.
  • Loves camping and sleeping in a tent
  • Hates sleeping in her crib, or anywhere that is not right next to my breast (we compromise and co-sleep for naps)
  • Can eat a metric ton of solid food and still nurse every 3 hours all day and night. I call her a booby barnacle.
  • Can roll all over the damn house, haha, seriously, the child is on the move.
  • Pushes off furniture and walls with her feet to propel her in any desired direction
  • Tries oh so hard to crawl, but just doesn’t have it down yet.
  • Will NOT sleep on her back anymore, as soon as she got motion down she was never on her back again. Side or belly only.
  • Is trying very, very hard to copy words, so close.
  • Copies everything we do, brushes her own (non existent) teeth when we do, eats with us, drums on surfaces when I do, bare hands and with a pen/drumstick. Just copies everything.
  • Always falls asleep in the car now (Thank God πŸ™‚ )
  • Sits unattended very well, but can’t get into it, or out of it alone. Throws herself down and rolls away.
  • Can pass an object hand to hand effortlessly
  • Has rediscovered separation anxiety (yeay) and whines whenever I am out of her line of sight, including in the shower.
  • Drinks well from a sippy cup or a regular cup
  • Never used a bottle or pacifier once, refused.
  • Is very LOUD, about everything, joy and anger.
  • Is always the life of the party, because she is so loud and social.
  • Loves being worn, hates her stroller unless it’s for outdoor walks.
  • Loves her exercauser and wooden spoons. Spoons are good for chewing on and drumming with.
  • Is a risk taker, cracks up when daddy plays dropsy or flying baby with her. No fear here.
  • Still wakes up every 3-4 hours at night, boy am I tiered, but it`s wayyyyy better then it was even 2 months ago.
  • Loves the water, pool, ocean, bath, shower, all of it. Loves to taste, feel and splash the water.
  • Is into textures, she is always rubbing everything with the palm of her hand.
  • Seems to have been teething hardcore for 3 damn months, but not a single sign of a tooth yet.
  • Makes the best, most entertaining poop face, and can fart louder then daddy then giggle about it.
  • Points to things she wants
  • Finally loves dad as much as me, yeay!
  • Is so petite, no chubba chub on this child at all. She is all lean and length.
  • Is getting hazel eyes, they are not blue in the direct light anymore
  • Is getting very light brown hair, only has one dark patch left at the nape of her neck.

Most of all, rocks my world. She is not, nor has she ever been a laid back, easy baby. However, the fact that she is so social and adaptable more then makes up for her tantrums and oppositional nature lol. I am afraid of 2, but can`t wait to watch her personality unravel. I love her more the life.

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  5. She is so adorable! You have to let me know how it’s going in the crib. We are going to start trying it at around 6 months as well. She is still part time co-sleeping, starts in the bassinet and then ends up in our bed somewhere in the middle of the night. Although she was co-sleeping more when we were on vacation and when I was in Michigan we were full time co-sleeping. My parents borrowed a pack and play that was broken. 😦 I didn’t mind though!

    • Well..it goes pretty bad, but that’s fully my fault with inconsistency. We co-sleep while camping then she is soooo mad when we get home and I expect her back in the crib lol. However, it reinforces my belief we need to sleep apart to get any sleep cause she is always right back to her nursing every 1.5-2 hours all night every single time we co-sleep and I can’t function. Despite the protests and multiple times in her room nursing, rubbing her back ect..She always does at least one 4 hour stretch a night, which was unheard of before.

Thanks Mama…guess that is what happens when you have a crazy alert baby who wants to sleep never ever. She learns tons of new skills fast while I get dumber and dumber from sleep deprivation lol.
