The Life of a Mom

-Getting a zerbert (raspberry) on your thigh while sitting on the toilet. Creating a human barricade between the toilet and infant so that she doesn’t  splash her hands in the waste water mid flush.
-Trying hard to get wood into the woodstove whilst blocking a baby trying equally hard to climb into the fire while saying " hot. hot" to you over and over. Yes baby girl, it’s very, very hot.
-Trying to get the floor swept while averting the ninja child who is chasing around the pile of rubbish trying to eat whatever she can grab.
-Intercepting your infant from stealing musical instruments, stickers, snacks ect..from all the other babies at music class.

Between chasing her down and nursing I am burning a gazillion calories a day I swear. The child is on a mission to conquer and control and her mobility and language skills are growing at the speed of light at this juncture.

Words we have mastered at 10.5 months: Mama, Daddy, Kitty, Light, Hot,  Hi.

Everyone get’s hi and she has started waving back to people when were out and about. She loves puckering her lips and making the loud pucker sounds and point at everything and saying wa? From the second she wakes up in the morning til she goes to sleep in the evening she is pointing at everything she sees and asking me what it is.

Everything on four legs is a kitty. Bunny’s, dogs, even a pony 🙂

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Wow! She is doing great on the vocab. Adam’s a few months older but although he “talks” a lot, the only words we have are mama, dada and baby, and I don’t think he really knows what they mean. He hasn’t done anything new with his words lately, but I think that’s because he finally mastered walking and that took all of his energy.

    Go Evangeline! That’s so cool!
