My baby is 1 today…WOW!!

12 months, I was in active labor at this time last year, I would hold my baby for the first time in 9 hours. Evangeline has taught me so much, and really made me grow as a person. She is the greatest little person, stuffed to the hilt with personality, just a wild child whom I am sure will continue to seriously challenge me as she get’s older and more stubborn haha.

We had her party at our home yesterday afternoon and it was blast. She was napping when she awoke myself and two of her little friends went into her room to greet her. She was confused, but impressed to wake up to so many faces all in her honor. She was in the greatest mood and had such a blast, what a wonderful day. She also walked 4 consecutive steps 2x at her party. She is getting there. Oh and today was also the first time she communicated want to me clearly with gesture, she pointed at Dave’s drink and whinned, I got her her sippy and sure enough, she was thisty.

The Cake πŸ™‚ made with love from scratch (except the fondant, I bought that)

Just waking up, flabergasted

Hanging with her buddy

Opening gifts

Checking out the dip, instead of the candle.

Seriously? You took my clothes off and stuck me in this chair. Were is the food?

Oooo so worth the wait

About mommamaynard

β€œLife is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” β€” Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.

  1. Happy 1st Birthday Evangeline!

What a mess you made with your cake! So cute.

I think Beanie and Evangeline would get on – both seem to be short in the patience department. Sometimes I can’t get food into this girl fast enough. I am hoping it means she’ll be a ‘head-on-her-shoulders’ teenager and won’t give me any lip!

I can’t wait to see what E brings your way this next year.

    • hahah thanks πŸ™‚ well you know, determined and demanding girls get far in this ‘walk all over the weak’ world we live in, so I am ok with it if it will help her as an adult πŸ™‚

  2. Happy birthday, Evangeline!

  3. Happy 1st Birthday Evangeline!
    I can’t believe she’s a year old already!

  4. Wow, it’s been a year already!!?? She looks so adorable, and you did a great job on the cake! What kind of cake did you make?

    • It’s a cake mix, for birthday cakes I honestly tend to prefer a mix for the moisture. It’s white cake with rainbow sprinkles. I made the chocolate buttercream icing and the flowers are fondant πŸ™‚ its was soooo good and pretty. Win win πŸ™‚

  5. Happy birthday E!

    I thought about her today!

  6. *blink* OMG. Where does the time GO anyway?!

Congratulations! This is so amazing, and I have been thrilled and honored and humbled to watch you guys on this wild ride. πŸ˜€ Take care!
