We had a lovely family weekend. Saturday morning we visited the farmers market where we were engulfed with the bountiful harvest from local farmers. We left with our weekly habitual German pastries and Fair trade coffee’s, but also with bags and bags of fresh produce. Pumpkin bread pudding anyone?
Saturday afternoon was spent at a birthday party for the lovely Ella, a little girl from our local parent’s playgroup. There was a bouncy castle and cupcakes; so needless to say the kids had a blast.
Sunday we had a spectacular summer cameo. It was hot! So hot in fact we filled our toddler pool. We invited some friends of ours and their daughter over for a corn boil/backyard toddler pool party. The corn from the market was spectacular and the pool was a hit. The kids played themselves into an exhausted state of crankiness; then slept peacefully all night long. Just what the doctor ordered.
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein.
When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
