Today is fired

It’s like they have a sixth sense about these things…If your husband has 3 days worth of 15 hour work days, and you have PMS and a busy week at work as well…..Your toddler will refuse to sleep. How do they know? Can they smell it in the air and think to themselves…”Yes…tonight is the night, I smell it…I feel it in my tiny toddler bones.. Tonight they REALLY NEED sleep…and so sleep I shan’t..”

Poor Evangeline (and poor mummy and daddy as result) had a very rough night last eve. Her dad and I hit the sheets around 11pm only to hear her cry out at 12am, a kiss, hug and tuck later she was back to sleep only to rinse wash and repeat every 45 minutes until we gave up and put her in bed with us at 1:30am. We all managed to catch some Zzzz’s between 1:30 and 4:30 and it just went downhill from there. When the alarm went off at 6am we have managed to squeeze in about 3ish hours of sleep all night, less then we got when she was a newborn.

I swear, I was the first person in line this morning at my local coffee shop ordering a large black bold. Then I came to work crampy and bloated only to find I had started my period, double score! The workday is almost done and I have survived…so I suppose I can actually function off 3 hours sleep; who knew?

I would trade a million sleepless nights for this face:

About mommamaynard

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein. When it feels like your world has been shattered, and you have reached rock bottom, you must make a choice: Stay where you are and fade away, or keep moving forward. Thankfully I chose to move forward and was blessed with the two most wonderful children after the death of my first in early labor. Things are looking up.
